Living in a condominium can be a relief from the headaches of maintaining your dwelling. Many find living in a condo to be a relief from renting apartments and covering expenses each month. As people age, some find a condo association to be a help or option to live an their own residence before moving to a nursing home or assistant living.

A condominium association is made of a designated group of residences owned by the residents or in some cases, rented. The condominium group of homes has to be managed by a board, voted in by the community. This community is under the oversight of the Board according to state law. The managing of the community is not an easy job but must be handled like a business. Some of the COA groups are incorporated under the state statutes and must follow the state laws on corporations. 

All those headaches that a homeowner wants someone else to manage, must be managed by the Board. A COA Board will have to pick up those headaches and manage them. Here is a list that many boards cover. This is not an easy job.

The challenges faced by the boards are often difficult, most things involving law are difficult, and boards often want someone to talk to, to share with. Boards desire someone who has experience and patience, and has the ability to offer hope.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL MATH TUTORING

 

Many parents are concerned that their students are not at grade level in elementary school mathematics. I have taught Title 1 schools and Tutored Title 3 students, those who are struggling in Math. Students are often confused with modern math teaching practices that attempt to teach in a wider spectrum. In the case of tutoring, each student needs to be taught in a manner that they can understand. 

Challenges for students include:

Memorizing essential math tables

Recognizing how math is a step program where students learn each year

Students not having learned prior year's material are brought up through each year.

Some schools adapt new methods of teaching math on a regular basis. I have seldom seen these methods affective. Instead, we use practices that challenge students to interpret math questions into math language in preparation to solve the problems. The state of Arizona has focused on increasing rigor which may cause those who are struggling with math increased anxiety.
